SLIDE 07 PRAXIS ENTRY / AWNING SYSTEM
Just as first impressions are the most lasting ones, when Kyle was assigned the task of fabricating an entry awning for Emeryville company Praxis, he understood that the materials and function had to reflect Praxis' outward identity. Jensen Macy Architects designed the piece with materials in mind that Kyle had used on the roof of the Limn structures and wanted to use his familiarity with Kalwall to everyone's advantage. Besides the Kalwall, Kyle used aluminum on the rest of the structure, including his super-clever incorporation of rain gutters into the design. The finished system challenges the primitive definition of "awning" as we know it.
