SLIDE 03 SC KICKOFF

Measuring sixteen feet tall and seven feet in diameter, a large organic form with tendrils reminiscent of Southern California succulent plant life reaches for the sky, emerging from a dark orbed, earthy base. The sculpture's organic form is created to remain above ground, purposefully at odds with its surroundings. A site-specific piece, it is a response to the tension between the lush native desert plant life of the region and the temporal construction techniques of the film industry.
